Botox creams, Botox alternatives

• As we open any magazine or newspaper supplement, there are a vast array of Botox alternatives or Botox creams, which offer an alternative to Botox injections.
• Argeline is the gold standard constituent of Botox creams or Botox alternatives. It is a hexapeptide composed of natural amino acids. It reduces the amount of nerve stimulation on the local muscle tissue being targeted ie: the muscles underneath your skin where it is applied. This causes the muscles to relax slightly.

• The concentration of Argeline varies in the products you can obtain, the cosmetic industry does not have to list the amount of each constituent in their preparations or creams. Argeline levels can be therefore be in very insignificant amounts to potent concentrations.
• The delivery system in simple words (the size of the particles in which the Argeline is carried) varies from product to product. The nanosome delivery system is the best, where the active compound (such as Argeline) is encapsulated into very tiny particles (nanosomes) which allow the penetration of these compounds into the deepest layers of the skin as near to the underlying muscles as possible.
• If Botox creams or Botox alternatives are your desired choice, we recommend that you look for creams containing… acetylcholapeptide, this compound is 30% more potent than Argeline. The creams should also use a nanosome delivery system.
• We recommend Medik 8 Pretox 20 or Medic 8 PreInfin 8 which can be considered as Botox alternatives or botox creams and these are available at Selston Cosmetic Clinic.
• In our experience, these creams are a MILD alternative to Botox treatments, treating very fine, lines and wrinkles only. They are however a good addition to Botox treatments, helping the effects of the Botox to last longer.
